LTE-M allows IoT devices to use the cellular network while maintaining low power consumption. LTE-M offers higher bandwidth than LoRaWAN, making it suitable for a wider range of use cases. As an LTE-M operator, Orange offers you an easy way to prototype on LTE-M in 30 minutes with Live Objects and Arduino.
We provide some code samples for the Arduino MKR NB 1500 board. This board features a u-Blox LTE-M cellular module which is certified by Orange, a powerful micro-controller and a LiPo battery charger. It’s a perfect foundation for building a cellular IoT device!
Less than 10 lines of code
These code samples let you build your LTE-M device with Live Objects within 30 minutes using the Arduino MKR NB 1500 board. You can send data very easily, manage parameters and commands to modify the behavior of your object or trigger remote actions from Live Objects. All that with less than 10 lines of code!
What you need:
• an Arduino MKR NB 1500 board that you can order from the Arduino store or from your favorite reseller
• open a free Live Objects trial account, which you can activate in seconds
• for France only: French readers can request here a LTE-M SIM card with the Discovery offer
• download the code samples from GitHub
Once you activated your Live Objects account, all you have to do is to create an API key following the how-to and paste it in the code sample. Insert the SIM card, connect the Arduino board to your PC and upload the code… et voilà, you are sending data to Live Objects!
The code sample connect to Live Objects using MQTT, with TLS security level enable by default.
